A Musical Fountain for Zhanaozen’s Central Square

The musical fountain was developed as part of improvements to Zhanaozen’s central square and its public recreation space. It opened in 2020 as part of the city’s anniversary celebrations.

The installation uses three separate basins to distribute the fountain display across the square. A broader central pool accommodates several water-effect groups, while matching side pools create two linear extensions to the composition.

Three Pools with a Central Fountain Composition

The central basin measures approximately 24.8 × 18 m overall. Its layout combines circular jet groups, a curved line of nozzles, inward-arching streams, and rotating effects within a shaped pool.

Two elongated pools, each approximately 24.8 × 8 m, flank the central basin. Each side pool contains a straight row of jets, creating a clear visual rhythm along the length of the installation.

This arrangement combines the varied water forms of the central pool with the simpler linear patterns of the side pools.

Water Effects Across the Fountain Complex

The central pool combines upright water columns with inward-arching streams, peacock-tail patterns, and rotating pinwheel effects. These groups provide different shapes and movement within the main basin.

Straight jets and valve-controlled sequences add rhythm to the display. The side pools carry linear rows of jets that extend the fountain composition on both sides.

The fountain nozzles and specified pipework use 304 stainless steel.

RGB Lighting and Musical Fountain Control

The fountain lighting package includes 265 externally controlled RGB underwater lights operating at DC 24 V. The fixtures comprise 211 units rated at 12 W and 54 units rated at 24 W.

The system pairs 26 submersible pumps with 26 variable-frequency drives to regulate water output. A total of 152 solenoid valves support sequenced jet operation.

Five fountain control cabinets, a control computer, and dedicated fountain software provide the control infrastructure. The audio package includes four outdoor loudspeakers, two power amplifiers, a mixer, and a digital audio processor.

Fountain Equipment Supply and Site Installation

Huaxin Fountain supplied the fountain equipment package for the Zhanaozen project, including nozzles, pipework, pumping equipment, RGB underwater lights, control components, and audio equipment.

The project layout defines the equipment arrangement across the three basins. The installation combines the central pool’s circular and curved nozzle groups with the straight jet rows in the side pools, supported by the associated hydraulic and electrical connections.
